Step 1: Measure Your Cable

Take the help of the coil of wire. Extract out the needed wire for making a connection. Ensure you leave 2-3 inches on each wire side for further fittings and data plug. Every cable has a particular length assigned by the manufacturer itself.

So, if you are working with cat6 wire, you should measure up to 650 feet; for cat5 cable, you can have a wire of 250 feet. Notice that if you exceed your cable more than this length. You may face issues like data loss due to signal degradation. 

Never pull or tighten the wire more than its stated capacity. If you do this, your wire may become kinky or tightly pulled along the corners. So, you have to provide your cable with a little room for air.
